Warm Belly

Get in my belly!

Warm Belly is a “cookie-centric” bakery in Chicago’s West Loop. They do offer a plethora of other goodies as well: Bobtail ice cream, milkshakes, etc. and serve Dark Matter Coffee.

Well, their cookies are the bomb! They’re a chunky cookie ball of warm, chewy, sweet goodness.

They have a rotating assortment of 40 different cookies! Right now, that have about 25 options to ship nationwide. In store, they probably carry about 12 different cookies at a time, rotating flavors often and sometimes according to season, holiday, or special event.

I’m not gluten free but they have gluten-free options.

They’re not too pricey: In store, you can buy a regular sized cookie for $3 or $1.50 for minis (if available). If you live nearby, they’ll deliver but you can’t pick your cookies. They deliver an assortment of 6 or a dozen (or multiple dozens). Online, they’re $32 for a dozen or $16 for 6, plus shipping. They’re delicious though. I don’t mind splurging on a good cookie every once in a while.

On a previous trip, I tried the chocolate cherry pecan and turtle cookie. Superb cookies! The chocolate cherry pecan was so chunky with great ingredient distribution and a good dough to mix-in ratio. The turtle as well with gooey caramel inside!

This last visit, I opted for some minis to try a larger variety: Fruity Pebble, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cheesecake, and Peanut Butter Jelly.

I like that the cereal cookies had actual cereal pieces and you could tell they were fresh since the cereal wasn’t stale. The cheesecake was good but the star was definitely the Peanut Butter Jelly: a peanut butter flavored cookie with real jelly inside. The jelly was strawberry (which I prefer over grape) and it wasn’t too sweet or too tart (seriously, just right). With a glass of milk, these cookies really hit the spot!

Please forgive the terrible first 2 pictures … the 3rd isn’t much better but you get the idea.
